Chess, with a twist of sacrifice
SwapChess is ordinary chess plus a single addition. On your turn, instead of making a normal move, you may remove one of your own pawns from the board and teleport any other one of your pieces onto the square it was standing on. Everything else — check, castling, promotion, the draw rules — works exactly as it does in chess.
It sounds small and it is not. Swaps ignore blockers entirely, so a closed position is never really closed. A bishop stuck on the wrong colour can change colour complex for the price of a pawn. And because every pawn you spend is a destination you will never have again, your pawn structure stops being a wall and becomes a network of landing pads — for your opponent as much as for you.
Play the bot at three difficulty levels, or share a six-character room code with a friend. It is free, there is no sign-up, and nothing is saved.
